Upon your arrival at the airport or railway station, we will greet you and commence the journey towards Kathgodam, which typically takes approximately 7 hours. Upon reaching Kathgodam, we will assist you with checking into the hotel. In the evening, there will be a briefing about the upcoming yatra. You will stay overnight at the hotel, ensuring a comfortable and restful start to your pilgrimage journey.

At 07:00 AM, we will depart from Kathgodam to Pithoragarh, with several enriching stops along the way. Our journey will include visits to Kainchi Dham, Chetai Golu Devta Temple, and Jageshwar Dham, each offering unique spiritual experiences.

Kainchi Dham: Established by the revered Saint Sri Neem Karoli Baba ji in the 1960s, Kainchi Dham is a Hanuman temple and ashram, drawing devotees seeking spiritual solace.

Golu Devta Temple: Constructed in the 12th century by a general of the Chand Dynasty, Golu Devta Temple is dedicated to Golu Devta, revered as the God of Justice.

Jageshwar Dham: Nestled amidst scenic surroundings, Jageshwar Dham comprises a cluster of over 100 stone temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. Its majestic presence has earned it the moniker “Valley of Gods”.

Upon our warm welcome in Pithoragarh, we will check in to the hotel for an overnight stay. Pithoragarh, known as the “Shor Valley”, is the third-largest city in the Kumaon region. It serves as a gateway to numerous trekking routes and pilgrimage destinations, including the revered Adi Kailash Om Parvat Yatra, making it a dream destination for those seeking a retreat away from the hustle and bustle of urban life.

After an early breakfast, we will embark on a drive from Pithoragarh to Dharchula. Upon arrival in Dharchula, we will proceed to complete the necessary paperwork for obtaining the Inner Line Permit. This permit is required as we will be in close proximity to the international border of Nepal today. Following this, we will enjoy dinner and spend the night at a hotel in Dharchula.

Dharchula derives its name from its unique geography; “Dhar” meaning “Ridge” and “Chulha” meaning “stove”. The town’s distinctive landscape resembles a stove when viewed from a bird’s eye perspective, with high ridges enclosing it on all sides and the gushing Kali River delineating the border with Nepal. Apart from its proximity to Nepal, Dharchula offers various experiences such as visiting the “RUNG” museum or savoring the local delicacies of dumplings. For those attuned to the essence of places, Dharchula resonates with the historical Indo-Tibetan trade routes, and the spirit of the great migration caravan can be sensed in the demeanor of the indigenous Rung community. The stories etched in the wrinkles of their brows and the timeless smiles they wear serve as gateways to the adventurous tales of the Silk Route.

After breakfast this morning, we will venture to Nabi, a captivating village no less mysterious than the “Pandora” of the Na’vi in the movie Avatar. The journey itself is akin to a fairy tale adventure, offering breathtaking views of cliff-hanging mountains, gushing rivers, and snow-clad Himalayan peaks, providing a vivid sense of entering Shiva’s territory. Along the way, we will also explore picturesque villages such as Malpa (bearing witness to one of the Himalayas’ greatest tragedies in 1999), Budhi (where the altitude opens up to a rush of adventure and pilgrimage), Chialekh (where the Army conducts checks for Inner Line Permits), Garbyang (known for its sea buckthorn vinegar), Gunji (offering glimpses of the snaking diversion towards Om Parvat and the old Kailash Mansarovar route).

Nabi village serves as the base camp for Adi Kailash, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the authentic experience of Himalayan culture. We will spend the night at a homestay in Nabi Village, where you can relish delicious home-cooked meals.

In the early morning, we will embark on a visit to Om Parvat, a journey of approximately 2 hours by vehicle. Here, you will witness a “Miracle of Nature” as snow forms the shape of the sacred Om symbol on the mountain. After paying homage at Om Parvat, take time to relax, meditate, and experience the profound blessings of Lord Shiva.

Subject to permission, we will also visit Kalapani, a site associated with Mahakali temple. The temple complex is known for its stunning beauty, making it difficult to leave. Be sure to visit the source of the Kali River and Vyas Gufa during your time here.

Upon returning to our Finding Shiva community in Nabi Village, we will embark on an evening walk to the Manakamana Temple and enjoy a cultural program (subject to availability of artists). We will spend the night at Nabi Village, immersed in the spiritual ambiance of the Himalayas.

Today, we will set out early in the morning to visit the ancient abode of Lord Shiva – Adi Kailash. The journey to the Almighty’s home is no easy feat; it challenges pilgrims at every turn, urging us to shed every fragment of ego amidst deep valleys and flowing rivers. As we ascend, every 100 meters reveals the divine dance of Vyas Valley, a beauty beyond the grasp of even the most skilled poets. Don’t forget to gaze upon the Pandav fort at Kuti village along the way.

Upon reaching Jollinkong, we will visit Parvati Sarovar, a 2km trek (depending on your fitness) or a pony can be hired. Here, delve into your inner consciousness and connect with the energy of Lord Shiva. Close your eyes and feel the vibrations as you bow down to the towering Adi Kailash Mountain, standing at 6310 meters above sea level.

The journey can be extended to Gauri Kund at the base of Mount Adi Kailash, but only if health permits as it stands at nearly 5000 meters and poses a risk of AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness). After lunch, we will seek permission from Lord Shiva to depart. In the evening, we will spend time with the RUNG community, gaining insights into the lifestyle of Himalayan villages. Our overnight stay will be at Nabi village, enveloped in the serene ambiance of the Himalayas.

Following breakfast in the morning, we will commence our journey back to Dharchula. The evening will be free for exploring Nepal and indulging in some shopping. We will enjoy dinner and spend the night at a hotel in Dharchula.

After breakfast, we will embark on a scenic drive to Patalbhuvneshar, where you will be treated to panoramic views of the Shivalik ranges and charming Himalayan villages along the way. Upon arrival, we will visit the revered Patalbhuvneshar Cave, believed to be the abode of Lord Shiva and thirty crore deities. It is said that a visit to this underground limestone cave is equivalent to a thousand visits to Kashi, Baidyanath, or Kedarnath. Described in the Skanda Purana, in the Manas Khand, chapter 103, Patal Bhuvneshwar is revered for the blessings it bestows upon pilgrims. After exploring the cave, we will check in to our resort or hotel for an overnight stay, surrounded by the tranquil beauty of the Himalayas.

After enjoying breakfast, we will embark on a drive to Kathgodam. We will spend the night at a hotel in Kathgodam.

Following breakfast, we will embark on a drive to Delhi railway station or airport, reflecting on the unforgettable spiritual moments experienced throughout the yatra. As we bid farewell, we carry with us the profound experiences that transcend the boundaries of life and death. Thus concludes the yatra, leaving indelible imprints on our souls.
